Tom Yum Goong
Ingredients
  • Prawn
  • Straw Mushroom
  • Cili Padi/Birds Eye Chilli (smashed lightly)
  • Lime
  • Tom Yum Paste
  • Kaffir Lime Leaves
  • Lemongrass
  • Coriander Roots
  • Fish Sauce
  • Chicken Stock/Powder
  • Dried Chilli (fried)
  • Coconut Milk/Evaporated Milk
Steps
  1. Peel the prawn and save the shells for later
  2. Heat up a pot of boiling water
  3. Add in the prawn shells and boil it for abt 5 to 7mins
  4. Remove the shells
  5. Keeping the stock boiling under medium heat
  6. Add in lemon grass, kaffir lime leaves & coriander root
  7. After a few mins, add in the straw mushroom, fish sauce, chicken stock/powder, tom yum paste.
  8. Once start boiling, add in the prawns and let it simmer for a few mins
  9. Pour in evaporated milk (quantity to your liking), birds eye chillies.
  10. Let it simmer for 1 to 2mins before turning off the fire.
  11. After turning off the fire, squeeze in the lime, add in the fried dried chillies and sprinkle coriander leaves to top it off.
  12. Stir lightly and ready to serve
