Upside Down Apple Pie

Ingredients
  • 6 tblsp butter melted divided
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • Refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ⅓ cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 6 to 8 peeled cored chopped apples
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 375.  Coat a deep dish pie plate with nonstick cooking spray and line it with waxed paper.  Coat the waxed paper with cooking spray.  The more spray the better
  2. In a small pot over med heat combine 4 tables butter, brown sugar and pecans, mix well.  Unfold 1 pie crust and place  it in the pie plate, pressing against the pecan mixture and up the sides of the plate.
  3. In a large bowl combine chopped apples, granulated sugar flour cinnamon and remaining 2 tabls butter mix well.  Spoon into prepared pie crust.  Unfold second pie crust and place over the apple mixture.  Press edges to seal and turn under.  Using a knife cut 4 one inch slits in top of crust.
  4. Bake in a 375 oven for about 1hour and 15 mins or until golden brown.  Carefully loosen the waxed paper around rim and invert pie onto a serving dish while still hot.  Remove the wax paper and allow to cool!
