Easy Homemade Ginger Scallion Sauce (姜葱酱)

  • 2 large scallions or green onions (120g), white parts included
  • 50 g raw ginger peeled
  • ¾ cup neutral oil canola, vegetable, rice bran* see notes
  • ¾ to 1 tsp salt adjust according to desired taste
  • ⅛ tsp Chinese 5 spice powder optional
