Chard with Red Pepper and Walnuts
Ingredients
  • 4 to 5 oz chard
  • ¼ roasted red peppers
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 small yellow onion
  • 3 T walnuts
Steps
  1. Mince garlic.
  2. Cut ends off yellow onion and discard peel. Slice lengthwise into
  3. about ¼-inch thick strips.
  4. Remove center stems from rainbow chard. Slice stems into about
  5. ¼-inch pieces. Roughly chop leaves into bite-size pieces.
  6. Roughly chop walnuts.
  7. Heat about 1 ½ tablespoons cooking oil in a large sauté pan over
  8. medium heat.
  9. Add chard stems and remaining garlic to hot pan;
  10. stir. Cook 2 minutes, or until garlic is fragrant, stirring occasionally.
  11. Add chard leaves and roasted red peppers; stir. Cook 3 minutes,
  12. or until chard leaves wilt, stirring occasionally.
  13. Add walnuts; stir. Salt and pepper to taste.
