Ingredients
  • 1½ cups of white rice (medium grain recommended)
  • ½ onion, chopped (adjust amount to your preference)
  • 2 to 3 links of smoked sausage (your favorite brand)
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1 cup of beef broth
  • ½ cup of water
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 can of black-eyed peas (do not drain)
Steps
  1. Wash the rice thoroughly.
  2. Slice the smoked sausage and chop the onion.
  3. Sauté the smoked sausage and onions in a pan. Add any other ingredients you like during this step.
  4. Transfer the sautéed mixture to your rice cooker.
  5. Add the washed rice, stick of butter, beef broth, and water to the rice cooker.
  6. Season with salt to taste. If you don't typically add salt to rice, skip this step.
  7. Pour in the entire can of black-eyed peas, including the liquid.
  8. Stir everything well.
  9. Cover the rice cooker, plug it in, and press the cook button. Let it cook until done.
