Ingredients
- ½ cup (4fl oz/115ml) whole milk
- ½ cup (4fl oz/115ml) water
- ½ cup (4oz/115g) butter
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (5oz/142g) all-purpose flour
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
- Zest from 1 lemon
- 6 cups (48 fl oz/1440 ml) Vegetable oil (for frying)
- subheading: Vanilla Donut Glaze:
- 1 ½ cups (6oz/172g)) powdered sugar
- 2 to 3 tablespoons milk
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- In a medium bowl, whisk together all of the ingredients. Whisk until silky and smooth. If you want it thinner add a little more milk. Store the icing at room temperature in an airtight container for 2 weeks.
