Pumpkin Squares

1 box yellow cake mix (reserve 1 c.)

1 egg

1 stick butter

29 oz. can pumpkin pie mix

1 sm. can evaporated milk

2 eggs

Reserved 1 c. cake mix

¼ c. sugar

¼ c. oleo

1 tsp. cinnamon

Preheat oven to 350°

Mix first cake mix (minus 1c), 1 egg, and 1 stick of butter well and press into greased 9 × 13 inch pan.

Mix pumpkin pie mix, evaporated milk, and 2 eggs and pour over cake mixture in pan.

Mix reserved cake mix, sugar, ¼c butter, and 1 tsp cinnamon as for pie crust, sprinkle on top of pumpkin.

Sprinkle nuts if desired. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream.
