Ingredients
  • 1 box yellow cake mix (reserve 1 c.)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 stick butter
  • 29 oz. can pumpkin pie mix
  • 1 sm. can evaporated milk
  • 2 eggs
  • Reserved 1 c. cake mix
  • ¼ c. sugar
  • ¼ c. oleo
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Mix first cake mix (minus 1c), 1 egg, and 1 stick of butter well and press into greased 9 × 13 inch pan.
  3. Mix pumpkin pie mix, evaporated milk, and 2 eggs and pour over cake mixture in pan.
  4. Mix reserved cake mix, sugar, ¼c butter, and 1 tsp cinnamon as for pie crust, sprinkle on top of pumpkin.
  5. Sprinkle nuts if desired. Bake at 350° for 50 to 60 minutes or until knife comes out clean. Serve with whipped cream.
