Chicken Alfredo

Ingredients
  • 12 oz. box pasta
  • 2 chicken breasts, cooked and cut into bite size pieces
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups grated Parmesan
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped basil
  • 1 tbsp chopped oregano
  • 1 cup asparagus or broccoli pieces, slightly cooked (optional)
Steps
  1. Bring large pot of water to boil. Add generous amount of salt. Cook pasta per package directions. Drain, reserving some of the pasta water.
  2. In saucepan, melt butter. Add cream and milk and heat just to simmer. Add garlic and simmer until slightly thickened. Add Parmesan.
  3. Combine pasta, chicken, sauce, herbs, salt and pepper, and vegetables if using. If too thick, add some of the reserved pasta water.
