Gluten-Free Sourdough Sandwich Bread
Gluten-free bakers, rejoice! Now you too can enjoy the pleasure of slicing into a loaf of soft, tender, slightly tangy sourdough sandwich bread. Made with gluten-free starter and just a few other ingredients, this bread is all you need for toast, sandwiches, or any other bread craving. Note: Unless you already have gluten-free sourdough starter on hand, leave yourself plenty of time for this recipe; a new starter can take up to a week to become fully active.
Ingredients
  • 2 cups (312g) King Arthur Gluten-Free All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 tablespoons (35g) granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon instant yeast
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons (8g) table salt
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons xanthan gum
  • ½ cup (113g) milk, warm
  • 1 cup (227g) ripe (fed) gluten-free sourdough starter
  • 4 tablespoons (57g) butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
