Hunter's Stew

Ingredients
  • 1½ pound venison ½in cubes
  • ½ pound smoked sausage ½in cubes
  • 2 Tbs oil
  • ½c chopped onion
  • ½c chopped celery
  • 2 28oz whole tomatoes undrained and chopped
  • 1 12oz can beer
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp fresh or dried rosemary
  • ¾tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 2 carrots diced
  • 2 med baking potatoes chopped
Steps
  1. Brown meats in oil. Add onion and celery. Cook 5 minutes or until tender. Add tomatoes and next 5 ingredients and cover. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes. Add carrot and cook uncovered 30 minutes. Add potatoes and cook uncovered 25 more minutes or until meat is very tender.
