2 lbs short ribs, Korean style

subheading: Marinade:

½ large Asian pear, peeled and cut into 1 inch pieces

¼ large onion , сut into 1 inch pieces

4 large cloves of garlic

½ inch thick ginger root, thinly sliced

⅓ cup soy sauce

2 tbsp toasted sesame oil

2 tbsp mirin

3 tbsp brown sugar

Black pepper

subheading: Kimchi fried rice:

1 tbsp oil

1 cup kimchi, drained

1 tsp gochujang

3 cups day old rice

⅓ cup kimchi brine

2 tsp toasted sesame oil

2 tsp soy sauce

Green onion

subheading: Smashed cucumber salad:

One large English cucumber

¼ tsp salt

1 tbsp rice vinegar

2 tsp toasted sesame oil

2 tsp soy sauce

¼ tsp hot pepper flakes

1 tsp sugar

⅛ tsp grated ginger

Fresh cilantro and green onion
