Vegan Cheddar Cheese
Ingredients
  • 2 cups soy milk or any other PLAIN plant-based milk
  • ¼ cup nutritional yeast
  • 3 tbsp refined coconut oil or any neutral flavored oil
  • 2 tbsp agar agar powder (or 6 tbsp agar agar flakes)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ⅛ tsp turmeric
  • subheading: Add for cheddar that melts and stretches "optional*:
  • 2 tbsp + 1 tsp. tapioca starch (aka tapioca flour) (optional)
  • subheading: Add after cooking:
  • 2 tbsp warm water
  • 1 tbsp white miso paste (or any mild flavored miso)
  • 1 spray spray oil (to coat the cheese mold)
