9 Hours Later.... Italian Beef
loading...
Ingredients
- 3 Cups Beef Broth
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp basil
- 1 tsp dried parsley
- 1 tsp onion salt
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 bay leaf
- 2 0.7 oz packets of dry Italian seasoning
- ^ Bring all of that to a boil in a sauce pan
- 5 lbs chuck roast ( most stores have 2.5 lb packages so buy two)
Steps
- Cut Chuck Roast into about 4 big chunks and put in crock pot. Pour boiled broth over meat.
- Pour in half jar of hot giardiniera and half jar mild giardiniera. (you can do a full hot jar but it will be very hot)
- At my grocery store the giardiniera selection was minimal. So i grabbed one jar of giardiniera a jar of roasted red peppers, and hot pepper hoagie spread. I used a mixture of all three as a substitute
- Cook on low for 9 hours
- After 9 hours mix the meat and break it all apart in the crock pot and cook on low for another hour
- Serve on rolls with extra giardiniera. I added melted cheese on mine.
