Ingredients
  • mommy's chili
  • Canola oil in bottom of heated pan
  • 1 or 2 lbs ground chuck (has 80% beef and 20% fat)
  • Ground red chili to taste (this depends on age and heat of ground chili powder I usually start with 4 or so
  • Tablespoons)
  • Green Hatch chili to taste (I usually use 2 to 3 cans depending on heat of the green chili listed on the can
  • subheading: For each lb of beef):
  • Couple of tablespoons of smoked paprika per pound of meet
  • Couple of tablespoons Hungarian sweet paprika per pound
  • 1 large yellow onion for one pound or 2 large yellow onions for 2 pounds ground beef
  • 2 to 3 finely chopped garlic cloves for 1 lb  or 4 to 6 finely chopped garlic cloves for 2 lbs of beef
  • 1 can crushed tomatoes for 1 lb beef 2 cans for 2 lbs beef
  • ½ box beef broth for 1 lb beef whole box for 2 lb
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • A couple of Cans of pinto beans or red kidney beans or a combination of both per pound of beef
  • (very secret ingredient not to be shared except family) 1 tbs chocolate baking powder per lb of beef)
