Softest Cinnamon Rolls Ever!
Ingredients
  • subheading: FOR THE DOUGH:
  • ⅔ cup heavy cream (at room temperature)
  • 1 cup milk (1%, 2%, or whole, at room temperature)
  • 1 large egg (at room temperature)
  • ⅓ cup sugar
  • ½ cup cake flour (tap measuring cup to avoid air pockets)
  • 3 ½ cups bread flour (tap measuring cup to avoid air pockets)
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • subheading: FOR THE FILLING:
  • ⅔ cup dark brown sugar (or light brown sugar, lightly packed)
  • 1 ½ tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened at room temperature)
  • ⅛ teaspoon salt
  • subheading: FOR THE ICING (MAKES 2 CUPS OF ICING. WE USED 1 CUP, BECAUSE WE PREFER OURS LESS SWEET. THOSE WHO LIKE THEIR CINNAMON ROLLS DROWNING SHOULD MAKE THE FULL RECIPE! ):
  • 5 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter (at room temperature)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups powdered sugar (AKA icing sugar)
  • 3 ½ tablespoons whole milk (optional)
