  • 2 cups and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour*
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon, divided
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon cloves
  • ⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
  • ¾ cup (1.5 sticks) butter, softened
  • ¾ cup Dixie Crystals Light Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup, divided Dixie Crystals Extra Fine Granulated Sugar
  • ¼ cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • note: Spoon & Sweep method: Use a spoon to fill measuring cup with flour until required amount is obtained. Scooping measuring cup directly into flour bag will firmly pack flour resulting in too much flour required for recipe.
