This is a good yellow cake it came up nice and high. Someone said to use deep pans I found that helpful. Cake had a good flavor. I did not use the frosting recipe that was with this cake, I used a glaze type frosting and it brought out the flavor of the cake.
Ingredients

  • 2 ¼ cups Unbleached Cake Flour
  • 1 ¾ cups King Arthur Unbleached All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 ½ cups whole milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • subheading: ICING:
  • 1 ½ cups unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • 8 to 10 cups confectioners' sugar
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • subheading: FILLING:
  • ½ cup strawberry preserves
  • 1 quart fresh strawberries
  • 1 quart fresh blueberries
