Pecan Pie
Ingredients
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup dark corn syrup (Karo)
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 1tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups pecan halves
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 450 deg.
  2. Cream butter and brown sugar till fluffy.
  3. Add next 4 ingredients.
  4. Line pie pan with pastry (or use pre-made pie crust).
  5. Sprinkle/spread pecans in pie crust.
  6. Pour filling over pecans.
  7. Bake at 450 deg for 10 minutes.
  8. Reduce heat to 350 deg and bake for 35 minutes. Done when butter knife inserted in middle comes out clean.
Notes
  • Note: I let mine rest in the oven for about an hour, but optional.
