Montreal Dry Garlic Ribs (Elaine)
Ingredients
  • 3 pounds spareribs (either tips or babyback cut in half)
  • subheading: Sauce:
  • 1 ½ cups brown sugar (350g)
  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 4 to 5 garlic cloves
  • 4 ½ tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 ½ tablespoons dry mustard
Steps
  1. Bring a large pot of water to boil.
  2. Cut the spareribs apart.
  3. Add them to the boiling water, cover them and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  4. While the spareribs are simmering, mix together the sauce ingredients.
  5. When the spareribs are cooked, drain them, clean the pot and add the sauce to the pot.
  6. Bring it to a boil and add the spareribs.
  7. Simmer for about 45 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. *The recipe is very adaptable. You can use more spareribs and adjust the other ingredients accordingly.
