Yeast Waffles
from Bakewise cookbook
Ingredients
  • 2 ½ teaspoon active dry yeast
  • ½ cup warm water
  •  
  • ¼ cup butter
  • 2 ¼ cup milk
  •  
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  •  
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon baking soda
Steps
  1. Combine the yeast and warm water and let stand for about 5 minutes,
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter. Stir in the milk and let cool to lukewarm. Combine the flour, sugar and salt; add into yeast mixture, along with milk. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  3. When ready to cook, beat in eggs and baking soda.
  4. Pour about ½ cup batter into waffle iron and cook as directed.
Notes
  • Love! Amazing when served with sautéed apples!
  • Also love with raspberry syrup and whipped cream.
