Buttermilk Biscuits using a Kitchenaid Mixer (edited by tests)
Ingredients
  • 2 cups White Lilly Self Rising Flour
  • 8T Crisco shortening
  • 1 cup buttermilk
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 425°
  2. Put all ingredients in a Kitchenaid mixer with a dough hook.
  3. Mix on lowest speed for 2+ minutes.
  4. Dust hands lightly with flour; pinch balls of dough, roll slightly by hand - make 6 biscuits
  5. Place on pan coated with Crisco; pat biscuits to flatten slightly.
  6. Brush biscuit tops with melted butter
  7. Place pan in center of oven rack
  8. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes
Notes
  • This was 8/23 recipe instructions. Next time, use a dark pan, not a shiny pan. Looking for slightly dark biscuit bottoms
