Fire Cider
Ingredients
  • Organic and raw apple cider vinegar
  •
  • Lemon
  • Orange
  • Garlic 10 cloves
  • Half onion
  • Jalapeño / peppers
  • Wasabi / horseradish powder (3 tbsp) or horseradish root
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger
  •
  • subheading: 2 to 3tsp dried (or 2 to 3tbsp fresh):
  • Rosemary
  • Lavender
  • Sage
  • Thyme
  • Yarrow
  • Nettle
  •
  • Peppercorn
  • Clove
  • Star anise
  • Cinnamon
Steps
  1. Chop as blunt or as fine as you want and add to a 1 quart jar. Seems to me that the more finely you cut, the stronger the infusion.
  2. Cover all the plant matter with ACV. Plant matter can fill the jar or be only half with the rest ACV...depends on how much potency you desire :)
  3. Cap the jar. Plastic lids are better than metal for vinegars because the acids cause rust. If must use metal, place a parchment or wax paper barrier between lid and jar.
  4. Shake or stir daily, or as much as you can to break up the plant matter and infuse the ACV!
  5. After 6+ weeks (can infuse for months if you want!), strain out the plant matter, compost, and store the fire cider in glass.
  6. Strain the vinegar into a clean jar. Add honey to taste. Refrigerate and use within a year.
  7. Drink shots, or enjoy as a health tonic. One part fire cider with two parts water, and add honey to taste :)
