This could use more spices. Also try toasting them and then blending slightly for more flavor. Add 2 t. Black peppercorns and some fennel or anise seed for more flavor.

  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 2 bay leaves, crumbled
  • 2 cinnamon sticks, broken in half
  • 6 whole cloves
