  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ½ cups finely chopped pecans, walnuts, or your favorite nut (*see NOTES below for coconut variation)
  • Your favorite seedless jam or jelly, about ¼ cup
