  • 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped ginger
  • 1 tsp chilli powder (or to taste)
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 2 tsp cornflour (cornstarch) mixed with 2 tsp water
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp finely sliced spring onion (scallions)
  • steamed rice to serve
