Bengali Roasted Chickpeas

Ingredients
  • 1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • ½ tsp chili pepper
Steps
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Rinse and drain chickpeas well.  Spread out on a tea towel or several layers of paper towels to dry.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the Garam Masala, sea salt, and chili pepper.
  4. Spread prepared chickpeas on a baking sheet, lined with parchment or tin foil.
  5. Sprinkle the spice mixture over all the chickpeas. Toss gently so that some of the seasoning gets on everything.
  6. Roast in oven for 30 to 40 minutes, tossing every 10 minutes or so.
  7. Turn off oven, open the door a crack, and allow chickpeas to continue drying in the oven.
Notes
  • This is a spicy twist on the cinnamon roasted chickpeas.
