Ingredients

  • 1 cup - dry red or yellow lentils, soaked for 1 hour
  • 2 cups - plain soy or almond milk
  • 8 - deglet dates
  • ½ teaspoon - cinnamon (and/or nutmeg)
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons - vanilla
  • subheading: Savory Version:
  • 1 cup - dry red or yellow lentils, soaked for 1 hour
  • 2 cups - water or veggie stock (add 1T no salt seasoning if water)
  • 2 to 4 - cloves garlic (or 1t granulated garlic)
  • 1 teaspoon - granulated onion
  • ⅓ to ½ - a shallot
  • 1 Tablespoon - fresh herb of choice…basil, thyme, tarragon, chives, cilantro, parsley
