Braised Fennel - Annabel Langbein

Use the fronds for the bottom of the roasting pan when making Pork or Fish. Serve the braised bulbs as a lovely side dish.

Ingredients
- 2 to 4 Fennel Bulbs - trimmed, cored and sliced thin ( about ½ bulb per person)
- 4 tbsp butter, melted over medium high heat
- Juice of 2 lemons
- Water
- Salt and Pepper
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley.
Steps
- Lightly Brown Fennel in melted butter, over medium high heat - about 5 to 8 minutes.
- Pour over top the juice of 2 Lemons, 1 cup water and season with a little salt and pepper. Stir to combine.
- Turn the heat down to low (simmer) and simmer the fennel for about 15 to 20 minutes until the Fennel is tender and the liquid is reduced to a nice buttery, lemon sauce.
- Finish the dish with a few tbls. chopped parsley. SERVE
