Really Good Garlic Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 loaf italian bread, cut in ½ horizontally
  • 1 tbs juiced garlic (use microplane)
  • 8 tbs butter (½ melted; ½ softened)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp water
  • ⅛ tsp cayenne
  • ½ tsp salt (omit if using salted butter)
Steps
  1. Add juiced garlic to melted butter and microwave for 1 minute stirring half way.
  2. Mix garlic powder and water to make a slurry.
  3. To that, add softened butter and melted garlic mixture as well as cayenne & salt.
  4. Spread on bread halves.
  5. Bake 450° for 3 to 4 minutes.
  6. Flip loaves over, and with another sheet pan on top, lightly press down on bread.
  7. Return to oven and bake about 8 minutes more (with sheet pan on top)
