Beer Battered Onion Rings
Ingredients
  • 2 large sweet white onions
  • 2 cups all-purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 2 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp white pepper
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup Beer (any type)
Steps
  1. Cut onions into ¾ inch slices & place rings into ice bath with 1 tsp salt for 20 mins (pick best rings)
  2. Cover each ring with all purpose flour & set aside for another 20 minutes until tacky
  3. Mix 1 cup flour + cornstarch + paprika + 1 tsp salt + pepper + baking powder & mix well
  4. Gradually add beer to achieve thick batter consistency
  5. Preheat oil to around 350• to deep fry
  6. Drop onion rings into batter to thoroughly coat & place into oil turning when top golden brown
  7. Place cooked rings onto kitchen paper towels & serve
