Puerto Rican Rice via Gucci aka Matt
Ingredients
  • Red (sofrito) and green (recaito) Goya sauce
  • Sazon seasoning packets
  • Adobe seasoning
  • 1 can of Sweet corn
  • Jar of Green olives (wont need whole jar about 15/20 olives)
  • 1 can of Chick peas
  • Uncle bens rice (2 cups)
  • 4.5 cups of water for rice
  • 1 6oz can of tomato paste
Steps
  1. subheading: First we make the paste to put into the rice for when its ready to boil and cook!:
  2. subheading: How to make the Spanish paste:
  3. (If you don't have a nonstick pan, you may need to add lil veggie oil before beginning)
  4. Place a quarter of the red(sofrito) & green(recaito) sauces in a small sauce pan
  5. Add a Tablespoon of tomato paste
  6. Pour 1 whole packet of sazon
  7. Cover all of the current ingredients with a generous adobo seasoning
  8. Heat on medium heat and blend together for roughly 10 mins
  9. subheading: Getting the rice started:
  10. While heating the paste and blending, get the rice ready.
  11. Pour your cups of rice and water into a 4 Qrt pot and begin to bring to a boil
  12. Go ahead and throw in your jar/canned goods into the rice while its coming to a boil
  13. Once your paste is ready, by this time your rice should be boiling, go ahead and add your Spanish paste to the rice.
  14. Make sure to stir the pot extremely well at this point.
  15. Cook on medium. As water starts to absorb turn down temperature. Stir occasionally.
  16. Once rice is done cooking, cool rice as normal at that point.
