  • ½ cup chopped fresh basil
  • ¼ cup thinly sliced fresh chives
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 large egg
  • Fresh basil leaves

  • 3 ounces Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, finely shredded (about 1 packed cup)

  • ¾ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • ¼ cup cold solid vegetable shortening, cubed
  • 6 tablespoons buttermilk
