Super bland and meh and taste nothing like Todd’s version. I’m pretty sure he used lamb and it was much more flavorful and seasoned.
I also used uncooked rice and added liquid but it didn’t absorb and was difficult to get cooked through.
Ingredients
  • subheading: Filling:
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 ½ tsp. salt
  • ½ tsp. pepper
  • 3 cloves garlic, mashed (or 2 tsp. garlic powder)
  • 4 Tbsp. chopped fresh dill
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 2 Tbsp. oil, for browning meat
  • 8 large, very firm  tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • subheading: Sauce:
  • 2 6 ounce cans tomato paste
  • 12 ounces of water
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 8 green olives (optional)
