Canning Cream of Mushroom Soup Base

  • 2 pounds mushrooms thinly sliced
  • ⅔ cup white wine
  • 6 cups beef or chicken broth
  • 4 teaspoons sea salt or other non-iodized salt
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • subheading: For Serving Per 1 Pint Jar:
  • ¼ cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon arrowroot or flour
  • fresh parsley or thyme to garnish
