1 cup all-purpose flour

1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking powder

1⁄2 cup whole milk, room temperature

1⁄4 cup bourbon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup chopped pecans

1 1⁄2 cups boiling water

Flaked sea salt (optional)
