Ingredients
  • note: ump bags should always be thawed before adding them to the slow cooker, so the ceramic doesn't break and the food is cooked at a safe temperature.
  • SWEET CHILLI CHICKEN
  • 8 oz diced chicken
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 1 small zucchini, julienned
  • A handful of snow peas, sliced
  • ¼ to ½ cup sweet chilli sauce
  • Cook on low 3 to 4 hours
  • SLOPPY JOES
  • 8 oz ground meat of choice
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • ½ bell pepper, diced
  • 7 to 8 oz tomatoes, pureed in blender
  • ½ pkt sloppy joe seasoning
  • Cook on low 3 to 4 hours
  • SAUSAGE & LENTIL SOUP
  • 6 to 8 oz kielbasa or other sausage
  • ½ cup brown lentils
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 rib celery, diced
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, chopped
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 2 cups broth of choice (add to pot separately)
  • S&P to taste
  • Cook on low 4 to 6 hours
  • HAWAIIAN MEATBALLS
  • 12 regular sized frozen meatballs (6 oz), thawed
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ cup sweet & sour sauce
  • ½ bell pepper, diced
  • ½ small onion, diced
  • 1 cup pineapple chunks with juice
  • Cook on low 2 to 3 hours
  • FAJITAS from scratch
  • 8 to 12 oz meat, cut into strips
  • 1 Tbsp lime juice (or lemon)
  • Mix ½ tsp each:  garlic powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, chili powder and salt
  • Mix meat with lime and seasoning to taste (you may have extra)
  • subheading: Add meat to the freezer bag with:
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 small onion, cut into strips
  • Cook on low.  For chicken breast, check at 2 to 3 hours.  Beef might take longer, depending on the cut and desired doneness.  Serve with your favorite tortillas and side dishes.
