Ingredients
- ¼ cup plain flour
- ¼ tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 1 ¼ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp ground white pepper
- 3 chicken breast fillet
- ½ cup oil
- 1 clove garlic crushed
- 1 tsp dried chillies chopped optional
- 2 sprigs onion sliced optional
Steps
- STEP 1 Combine flour and spices in a bowl.
- STEP 2 Cut chicken into 1 cm strips and toss in flour mixture to coat.
- STEP 3 Heat frypan and add enough oil to thinly cover base.
- STEP 4 Fry chicken over medium-high heat until golden. Just before removing add garlic, chilli and shallots to pan and cook for one minute.
- STEP 5 Remove and drain on paper towels. While pan is still hot fry some Asian greens with oyster or hoi sin sauce. Serve with rice.
Notes
- You can substitute the chicken with calamari/squid or prawns and it is delicious too. Very quick and just divine to eat - kids love it too (always a plus!) Feel free to adjust the spice ratio to suit your tastes. You can also use fresh chilli.
