Chicken Maryland pieces baked in a sauce of teriyaki and ginger

Ingredients
  • 10 Maryland chicken pieces
  • ¾ cup teriyaki sauce (I used the Ayam brand)
  • 1 tablespoon crushed ginger (I used the Masterfoods brand)
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon crushed garlic (optional)
Steps
  1. 1) measure ingredients for sauce into a large glass bowl. Mix together thoroughly.
  2. 2) chicken pieces in bowl one at a time and coat with sauce
  3. 3) cover with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for ½ hour
  4. 4) place 1 to 2 tablespoons of margarine in a large baking dish, or use 2 small ones. Place dish I. Oven to melt butter.
  5. 5) once butter is melted removed from oven and place chicken pieces on the tray with the skin side up
  6. Place in a preheated oven 200 degrees Celsius in temperature and cook approx 10 to 15 mins and then turn chicken over and cook another 10 to 15 minutes until pieces start to go brown. Turn chicken over again to skin side facing up cover with alfoil (poke steam holes in the alfoil) cook another ½ hour.
  7. 6) remove foil to check if chicken is cooked. If there is liquid in the pan, drain it and return pan to oven without foil to cook a further 10 minutes until skin is crisp.
  8. 7) serve with a sale or your favourite vegetables
