Ingredients

  • 1 28-ounce can whole San Marzano tomatoes
  • 1 ½ cups loosely packed fresh basil leaves, divided
  • kosher salt to taste

  • 2 16-oz. packages potato gnocchi, or one batch homemade gnocchi
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese*
