Charro Beans (Mexican Beans Recipe)
Ingredients
  • 1 pound dried pinto beans
  • 12 ounces bacon, chopped
  • 1 small yellow or white onion, chopped
  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced remove the veins if you prefer less heat
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 15-ounces can fire-roasted tomatoes
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ bunch of cilantro, chopped
  • Salt to taste
