Cast-Iron Chicken and Dumplings

  • 1 jalapeno, seeded and minced, optional
  • Zest and juice of 1 lime
  • 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon celery seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar
  • ¾ cup heavy cream, very cold
