  • 1 large garlic clove
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, snipped
  • 2 pounds potatoes, Yukon gold or red
  • additional snipped chives, for garnish
