  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 2 cups uncooked orzo pasta
  • salt, to taste
  • freshly cracked black pepper to taste
  • ¼ teaspoon or more crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional)
  • 2 cloves
  • 1 Bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon dried crushed oregano
