Ingredients
  • 6 slices baon
  • 30 oz. canned kidney beans
  • ½ tsp. salt
Steps
  1. Cook bacon till crisp in 10-in. skillet.
  2. Drain, reserving 2-tbsp. of drippings.
  3. Put bacon & reserved drippings in blender container, along with 15-oz. of beans, undrained, & salt.
  4. Thoroughly combine. (If necessary stop blender periodically & use spatula to scrape down sides.)
  5. Drain remaining beans.
  6. Return blender contents to skillet & stir in remaining beans, mashing lightly.
  7. Cook, uncovered, over low heat, stirring frequently, till thickened (about 10-mins.).
  8. REFRIED BEANS: Refrigerate/freeze leftover beans & reheat in hot oil/shortening.
