Ingredients
  • 1 flax egg (1 tbsp flax + 3 tbsp water)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (I used Woodstock Foods Organic brown sugar)
  • ¾ cup crisco
  • ½ cup sugar (I used Zulka Morena Cane sugar)
  • ¼ cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  •  
  • 1¼ cup flour
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  •  
  • 3 cups oats
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips
Steps
  1. Heat oven to 350.
  2. Mix the flaxseed with warm water and set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Shift together the flour, salt, soda, and cinnamon and set aside.
  4. Beat shortening, sugars, water, vanilla and flax egg until creamy.
  5. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.
  6. Bake 15 minutes.
