Bakery-Style Cream Scones with Milk Chocolate
Ingredients
  • 9 ounces all-purpose flour (about 2 cups, spooned; 255 g), plus more for dusting
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ( 4 g) Diamond Crystal kosher salt; for table salt, use half as much by volume or use the same weight
  • 2 ounces cold unsalted butter (4 tablespoons; 55g), cut into ½-inch cubes
  • 6 ounces roughly chopped milk chocolate (1 cup; 170g)
  • 2 ounces milk (¼ cup; 55g), any percentage will do
  • 6 ounces heavy cream (¾ cup; 170g)
  • Toasted or turbinado sugar, to taste (see note)
