Asian Pork Meatballs (Tangy Caramel Sauce!)
Ingredients
  • ½ tbsp cooking oil canola or sunflower

  • ¼ cup spring onions/scallions finely sliced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1½ tbsp shaoxing wine
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp fresh ginger minced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ½ tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp white pepper
  • subheading: Tangy caramel sauce:
  • 2 tbsp dark soy sauce Use good quality (note 2)
  • 2 tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tbsp cornstarch
  • ½ cup cold water
  • subheading: To serve:
  • finely sliced spring onions or sesame seeds
