Ingredients
  • 10 oz canned clams, chopped
  • 3 cups of bottled clam juice

  • 1 onion, diced
  • 3 medium-sized yukon gold potatoes (about 1 lb), peeled, and diced into 1 inch cubes
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup half and half
  • ¼ cup cooking sherry
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves (½ teaspoon dried)
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ to 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • A few dashes of worcestershire sauce, to taste
  • A few dashes of tobasco, to taste
  • 4 sourdough bread bowls
