Ingredients
  • ¾ c. cider vinegar
  • ¼ c. water
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 tsp. curry powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. ground ginger
  • ¼ tsp. ground cloves
  • ¼ tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 4 green apples (peeled, cored & cut into eighths)
  • 2 medium onions (cut into pieces)
  • 2 oz. candied citron
  • 1 c. raisins
  • ½ c. brown sugar
Steps
  1. Put vinegar, water, garlic, curry powder, salt, ginger, cloves, & cinnamon into blender container; blend till garlic is finely chopped.
  2. Add half the apples & half the onions to blender container & blend till coarsely chopped. (If necessary, stop blender & scrape sides with rubber spatula.)
  3. Add remaining apples & onions, along with remaining ingredients to blender container & blend till coarsely chopped.
  4. Pour blender contents into saucepan & simmer over low heat, uncovered, 45 to 60 mins. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. If desired, seal/can in hot, scalded jars.
Notes
  • The spiciness of this dish is controlled by the spiciness of the curry powder used.
