Hong Kong-Style French Toast
Ingredients
  • Eight ½-inch-thick slices milk bread or brioche, crusts removed (see notes)
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar (about 1 ¾ ounces; 50g)
  • Pinch kosher salt
  • 2 cups (240ml) whole milk
  • ½ cup (120ml) creamy peanut butter spread
  • Neutral oil such as vegetable or canola oil, for frying
  • 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter, for serving
  • ¼ cup (60ml) condensed milk, for serving
